Ruoli Wang is an Associate Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in the Department of Engineering Mechanics. He received his Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Southeast University in 2004, and his MSc and PhD in Engineering Mechanics from KTH in 2007 and 2012, respectively. His doctoral research focused on quantifying the biomechanical consequences of gait impairments linked to foot and ankle deformities due to musculoskeletal disorders. Following this, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Paediatric Neurology group at the Karolinska Institutet and in the Computational Biology group at KTH, where his research centered on quantifying spasticity and the associated changes in muscle structure properties. Currently, his work focuses on developing experimental and computational methodologies to non-invasively estimate muscle neuromechanics, which includes research on motor neuron firing behavior and mechanical musculotendon parameters. Dr. Wang has been a member of the research team at the Promobilia MoveAbility Lab and is known for his interests in biomechanical analysis and its applications in clinical assessment and rehabilitation. He was awarded the title of Docent in Biomechanics in 2022 and actively teaches various courses in biomechanics and engineering.
