Dr. Rusi Taleyarkhan

Biography

Rusi Taleyarkhan is a Professor in the Nuclear Engineering department at Purdue University. He has a broad research interest that includes novel radiation sensor systems, special nuclear material monitoring, dosimetry, and safeguards for nuclear energy applications. He has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in the development of novel green materials and composite materials for radiation dosimetry. Taleyarkhan's work also speaks to his expertise in nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulics and complex processes such as acoustic inertial confinement fusion and controlled hydrogen production. He holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he also earned his M.B.A. and M.S. degrees in Nuclear Engineering. His educational background is complemented by a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. Taleyarkhan is recognized as a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society and the Russian Academy of Sciences, underscoring his esteemed status in the nuclear engineering community. He serves as the Chief Technology Officer at S/A Labs, LLC, contributing to advancements in materials synthesis and transmutation.
