Biography

Russell Buchanan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo since 2024, where he is the principal investigator at the Robotic Interaction, Perception Learning Lab. His research interests include SLAM, state estimation, and mapping for mobile robots in challenging real-world conditions, along with topics such as robot perception, deep learning, and computer vision.
