Biography

Ruth Marshall received her DPhil in Politics from Oxford University. She is the author of 'Political Spiritualities: Pentecostal Revolution in Nigeria' (University of Chicago Press, 2009) and has published numerous scholarly articles on the study of global Christianity in relation to politics, religion, ethnicity, and citizenship in West Africa, particularly in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire. Her research and teaching are interdisciplinary, drawing from political science, political philosophy, the study of religion, anthropology, and African postcolonial studies. She served as a Faculty Fellow at the Jackman Humanities Institute during the 2013-14 academic year.
