Biography

Ruud van Sloun is an Associate Professor in the Signal Processing Systems group at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on advanced sensing and signal processing algorithms, with a special emphasis on deep learning methods applied to image formation and reconstruction problems. He has a background in probabilistic signal processing for ultrasound imaging, leveraging signal structure models to derive optimal estimators. The applications of his research span ultrasound imaging, MRI, and automotive radar. In 2022, he was honored with the TU/e Young Researcher award. His aim is to achieve faster and more widely accessible imaging through the design of intelligent systems that efficiently learn to optimally sense, process, and interpret real-world signals.
