Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Ruy Bonilla. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Ruy Sebastian Bonilla leads the Electronic & Interface Materials Laboratory at Oxford, focusing on the control of charge transport in electronic materials and improving device performance and stability. His lab develops advanced nanolayer materials aimed at optimizing the electronic, ionic, and optical behavior of devices ranging from solar cells to quantum neuromorphic components. A prominent area of Bonilla's research is passivation of nanolayers, particularly K-ion charged SiO₂, to reduce recombination losses in silicon photovoltaics, as well as understanding the degradation modes of contacts and interfaces. His group models and develops interfaces for tandem solar cells and perovskite/silicon devices, as well as transparent electrodes for energy-efficient computing devices.
