Biography

Ryan Appleby is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Studies at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. He completed a rotating internship at the Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre and a Diagnostic Imaging internship at the Veterinary Imaging Center of San Diego. Following this, he undertook a residency in Diagnostic Imaging at North Carolina State University, focusing his research on contrast-enhanced ultrasound and shear wave elastography in diagnosing chronic kidney disease in cats. His primary research interest lies in the application of artificial intelligence in veterinary diagnostic imaging, particularly the use of ultrasound and elastography techniques for diagnosing various disorders in dogs and cats. Dr. Appleby continues to supervise graduate students and engages in clinical research to enhance veterinary diagnosis using novel imaging technologies. He is also involved in creating educational content aimed at veterinary professionals and is dedicated to innovative teaching in the field of diagnostic imaging.
