Biography

Ryan Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology. His research focuses on new techniques for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), particularly in the development of radiofrequency (RF) coil arrays for a wide variety of high field multi-nuclear MRI applications. He has implemented coils that measure metabolic activity using 31P-MRI and cell viability using 23Na-MRI. In recent years, his laboratory has begun exploring radiotransparent RF coil arrays to minimize beam interference and support high-performance MRI hybrid systems, including MR-guided radiotherapy and PET-MR.
