Biography

Ryan JJ Buckley, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. He works clinically in the Emergency Department and the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital. His research focuses on improving care for critically ill patients and he has a unique interest in complex substance use disorders and critical illness, particularly in the context of opioid use disorder and withdrawal syndromes. Buckley is currently a National Institute Drug Abuse (NIDA) K12-sponsored Yale-Drug use, Addiction, HIV prevention Research (DAHRS) Scholar. He is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
