Dr. Ryan Mcleod

Biography

Ryan McLeod is a Lecturer at Columbia Law School and a Partner in the Litigation Department at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. His practice focuses on representing corporations and their directors in litigation involving mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, corporate governance disputes, and class and derivative actions addressing fiduciary duty breaches. Ryan has been admitted to practice in Delaware and New York, where he has significant experience litigating corporate matters in the Delaware Court of Chancery, Delaware Supreme Court, and various courts across the country. Notable cases he has handled include the prosecution of Twitter's litigation to enforce a merger agreement with Elon Musk and landmark cases such as Corwin v. KKR Financial and United Food & Commercial Workers Union v. Zuckerberg. Beyond his firm role, Ryan guest lectures on corporate litigation and governance at law schools nationwide. He has been recognized as a Future Star by Benchmark Litigation and a Rising Star by the New York Law Journal, and he is noted in the inaugural Bloomberg Law "They’ve Got 40 40" list. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from Ursinus College and his J.D. magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law before clerking for the Honorable William B. Chandler III.
