Dr. Ryan Quock

Biography

Ryan Quock is a Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he has been instrumental in teaching dental courses such as dental anatomy, operative dentistry, and dental therapeutics. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston in 2005 and has practiced in both federally qualified health centers and private sector settings before joining the faculty. His scholarly interests center on practical aspects of caries management, including fluoride therapies and sealants, as well as conservative treatment of dental caries. Quock has a robust portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and has served as both an author and a reviewer. In leadership roles, he has chaired the UTHealth InterFaculty Council and has been actively involved at a national level with the American Dental Education Association, where he was chosen as chair-elect in 2019 and later installed as chairman in April 2020. His teaching excellence has been recognized with the University of Texas System Regents’ Award for Outstanding Teaching in 2018, and he is a member of the Dean’s Academy of Distinguished Scholars at the School of Dentistry. Additionally, Quock is a frequent contributor to Houston Public Media’s radio show “Houston Matters” in the segment titled “Ask the Dentist.”
