Dr. Ryan Touhey

Biography

Ryan Touhey is an Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of History at the University of Waterloo. He specializes in Canadian political history with a particular focus on foreign relations, especially relating to South Asia. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) and a Master’s degree from the University of Ottawa, followed by a PhD from the University of Waterloo. Dr. Touhey has made significant contributions to the field through his extensive publications, including works on Canadian leadership during the Korean War, foreign relations during the Diefenbaker era, and the complexities of Canada-India relations. He has played a pivotal role in several collaborative projects and has served as a guest editor for prominent journals.
