Biography

Ryan Willing is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Western University. He is also a faculty member in Biomedical Engineering. With more than 10 years of experience in biomechanical engineering research, his work primarily focuses on human joint biomechanics and implant design. His research utilizes a combination of advanced computer modeling and experimental analysis. Willing is associated with the Lawson Health Research Institute and is a member of Western’s Bone and Joint Institute. He also holds memberships in prominent organizations such as the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Before joining Western University, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the State University of New York at Binghamton. Willing earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University in 2010 and a B.Sc.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2005.
