Biography

Ryo Torii joined University College London in 2012 as a lecturer after working at Imperial College London's Department of Chemical Engineering and Harefield Heart Science Centre, where he was a Fellow at the Qatar Cardiovascular Research Centre. He completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 2003. He has also held positions as a research associate and fellow at both the University of Tokyo and Imperial College London. In 2021, he became a Professor of Biomechanics at UCL, where he now leads the Computational Biomechanics Lab within the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on various aspects of Biomechanical Engineering, contributing to advancements in the field through innovative laboratory work and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
