Vish Viswanathan obtained his Ph.D. in Operations Research with a minor in Operations Management from Case Western Reserve University in 1992 and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, where he was a Gold Medalist in 1986. He also earned a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 1984. With over 33 years of experience as a faculty member at the Nanyang Business School, he currently serves as a Full Professor and Director of the Centre of Business Sustainability. His previous roles include Associate Dean for Research and Head of the academic Division of Information Technology & Operations Management. Vish has a strong background in curriculum design for various MBA programs, including the founding of the NTU-Waseda double MBA program. His teaching and research interests encompass Corporate Sustainability, Decarbonization, Circular Economy, and Business Model Innovation. His research has been published in top-tier business journals such as Management Science and Operations Research. Vish has also served as an editor for numerous influential journals and has been recognized with several awards, including the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 and the Nanyang Award for Research Excellence in 2010.
