Dr. Sabata Gervasio

Biography

Sabata Gervasio is an Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at Aalborg University, Denmark. His research focuses on understanding sensory feedback processes in both normal and pathological conditions, particularly in identifying and treating sensory-motor impairments. Gervasio has a keen interest in the role of crossed spinal reflexes in interlimb coordination and utilizes neurofeedback as a therapeutic approach in stroke rehabilitation and managing musculoskeletal pain. He is dedicated to developing protocols for assessing sensory processing anomalies in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Gervasio has held administrative roles such as the Head of the PhD program in Biomedical Engineering and serves as an organizer for annual symposiums in the field. His teaching portfolio includes coordinating and lecturing courses in Biomedical Engineering and Sport Science, emphasizing problem-based learning. He has an extensive academic background with a PhD focusing on interlimb communication during human walking and holds degrees in Electronic Engineering.
