Biography

Sabine Achour is a Professor of Political Education at the Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science at Free University Berlin since October 2018. She was previously a professor at Philipps University Marburg focused on the didactics of political education and served as a guest professor at the Otto Suhr Institute of Free University Berlin. Her main research areas include political education addressing diversity, social inequality, inclusion, and engagement with ideologies of inequality, migration, and religious pluralism. Achour received the Walter Jacobsen Award for her doctoral dissertation focusing on Muslim citizens and political education in the context of migration and Islam in 2015. She is currently the deputy managing director of the Otto Suhr Institute and has been active in promoting teacher training and development in political education, including leading various educational projects and initiatives.
