Dr. Sabine Schülting

Biography

Sabine Schülting is a University Professor of English Philology with a focus on Cultural Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. She studied English Studies, Romance Studies, and Journalism at the University of Münster and completed her doctoral studies in Munich. Her research interests include Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, and the literature and culture of the Early Modern and 19th centuries. Schülting has contributed to numerous research projects and served on various committees, including as a member of the Advisory Board for the 'Shakespeare Holocaust Culture' conference in London. She has published extensively, including works such as 'Precarious Figurations: Shylock on the German Stage' and 'Dirt in Victorian Literature and Culture'. Schülting has also been involved in editorial roles, such as for the Shakespeare Yearbook. Her work explores the reception of Shakespeare and the intersections of gender in literature, emphasizing both historical and contemporary perspectives.
