Dr. Sabine Van Der Veer

Biography

Sabine Van Der Veer is a Senior Lecturer in Health Informatics at the University of Manchester, where she co-leads the Remote Monitoring Rheumatoid Arthritis (REMOAR) programme. Her research focuses on the development and implementation of digital health technologies to enhance care for individuals with long-term conditions. With a background from the University of Amsterdam, her contributions include significant studies funded by the National Institute for Health Care Research aimed at improving outpatient consultations for rheumatoid arthritis patients. Sabine has been actively involved in collaboration with UK kidney patient organizations, advocating for the incorporation of patient-reported experiences into national clinical audit data. She also leads efforts at the University of Manchester's Digital Futures Health theme and teaches on the joint UoM-UCL MSc Health Informatics programme, overseeing the delivery of course units. Her recent studies investigate how digital health technologies can be tailored to better serve diverse populations, especially among underrepresented groups.
