Biography

Graduated in occupational therapy from McGill University in 2003, Ms. Cavallo gained solid clinical experience in pediatrics at the Montreal Children's Hospital. She obtained her doctorate from the University of Montreal in 2016, in the public health program (epidemiology option). Her postdoctoral training completed at the University of Ottawa focused on knowledge transfer, targeting the use of social networks and other information and communication technologies in rehabilitation care for children, adolescents, and young adults. Ms. Cavallo specializes in pediatrics and is particularly interested in promoting a healthy and active life, as well as the successful transition from childhood to active life for young people living with chronic illnesses (e.g., juvenile idiopathic arthritis) and physical disabilities (motor impairment, visual impairment, communication disorders). Her research lab is at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal, part of the CIUSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal. Her research activities include work at CRIR and as an associate researcher at the Sainte-Justine University Health Centre's research center.
