Dr. Sachin Shah

Biography

Sachin D. Shah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He has a clinical focus on Chronic Disease Management, Clinical Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice, and Preventive Healthcare. As a Chief Medical Information Officer at University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences, Dr. Shah leads digital transformation initiatives with expertise in population health quality improvement, virtual care models, healthcare delivery innovation, predictive analytics, and patient engagement. His primary research interests are centered on clinical informatics, specifically the ethical implementation of artificial intelligence predictive models to enhance clinical decision support and patient-centered care. Furthermore, he is involved in research related to population health improvement, value-based care models, digital health equity, and the use of telemedicine for chronic condition management. Dr. Shah completed his A.B. in Molecular Biology at Princeton University and earned his M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center before joining the faculty at the University of Chicago in 2010.
