Professor Dr. Sadegh Dabiri

Biography

Dr. Dabiri received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Irvine. Following his doctorate, he served as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and later as a Research Faculty at the University of Notre Dame before joining Purdue University. His research primarily focuses on computational fluid dynamics, particularly in the areas of multiphase flows, turbulent bubbly flow, cavitation bubble dynamics, and heat transfer. With a strong emphasis on fundamental research, Dr. Dabiri investigates phenomena such as sprays, liquid atomization, mixing under supercritical conditions, and the transport of solid particles in fluid systems. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Physical Society. In recognition of his academic contributions, he has received several awards, including the AIAA Martin Summerfield Graduate Award in 2008 and the Dean's Dissertation Award in 2009.
