Biography

Safwat Hassan completed his PhD degree at Queen’s University and has a background in software engineering, having worked for ten years at the Egyptian Space Agency, Hewlett Packard, Vodafone Germany, and Etisalat. During this time, he was involved in large-scale systems and web-based embedded systems, taking on various project roles that included design, service, customer support, and research and development in the telecommunications and aerospace domains. Currently, Professor Hassan is focused on studying mobile apps and analyzing data from mobile app stores, such as Google Play Store. His research includes analytics of review platforms, release engineering, and user-developer interactions, with the aim of developing techniques and frameworks to improve the user experience and quality of published apps in app stores.
