Biography

Sai Folmsbee is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department at Stanford University. He leads the Neuropsychiatry section and is actively involved in the Neuroimmunology Disorders Neuropsychiatry Clinic and the Huntington’s Disease Center of Excellence. His research focuses on the psychiatric manifestations associated with immune-mediated illnesses. Dr. Folmsbee graduated from the Medical Scientist Training Program at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine with a Ph.D. where he investigated the role of cell adhesion in immunologic and neurologic processes. He completed his general psychiatry residency at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in Neuropsychiatry Behavioral Neurology at Stanford University, where he joined the faculty in 2023. His significant contributions to the field have been recognized through multiple honors including the Innovator Grant and Trailblazing Trainee Award at Stanford, and the Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. He is also a Diplomate of the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry, slated for certification in 2025.
