Dr. Sai Gu

Biography

Professor Sai Gu is a renowned academic and Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Warwick, specializing in Chemical Engineering. He obtained his PhD in Material Modelling from the University of Nottingham and furthered his research during a post-doctoral position at the University of Cambridge. Professor Gu has held lectureships and professorships at notable institutions, including Aston University and the University of Southampton, where he focused on bioenergy research and established international networks for biomass resources. In 2011, he became Chair of Clean Energy at Cranfield University and was instrumental in launching the Centre for Bioenergy Resource Management. As a leader in the field, he joined the University of Surrey as Head of Chemical Engineering, transforming the department significantly. With a strong track record in securing substantial funding for collaborative research projects, Professor Gu is an advocate for digital technologies in chemical engineering, notably through his pioneering work with Industry 4.0 technologies. He currently supervises PhD candidates and trains the next generation of research leaders in clean energy and digital transformation.
