Dr. Saja Al Zoubi

Biography

Saja Al Zoubi works internationally, having held positions at prestigious institutions such as the University of Oxford and UN Women. Her research focuses on development studies through a gender lens, with a particular emphasis on women's empowerment and their critical role in rural development. She highlights the significant contributions women make in sustaining households and communities. Al Zoubi authored a book titled 'The Role of Women in Domestic Economics', which serves as an academic reference and explores women's economic contributions in various sectors. Since the outbreak of the Syrian war in 2011, her work has increasingly centered on peacebuilding and socio-economic justice, seeking to improve livelihoods and food security for conflict-affected populations, particularly internally displaced persons (IDPs) and women-headed households. Al Zoubi also engages in teaching courses that prepare students for careers in development sectors, integrating practical data analysis skills with a deep understanding of global challenges.
