Biography

Professor Hussain is a faculty member in the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow, where he specializes in Information Engineering with a focus on Autonomous Systems and Connectivity. He serves as Program Director for the Electronic and Electrical Engineering Information Engineering program at Glasgow College UESTC. His academic contributions include positions as an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at the Capital University of Science and Technology in Islamabad, Pakistan. Professor Hussain obtained his Master's degree in Wireless Communications from Supelec, Gif-sur-Yvette in 2006, and a PhD in Signal Processing and Communications from the University of Rennes 1, France, in 2009. He is a senior member of IEEE and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Professor Hussain has received multiple teaching excellence awards from the University of Glasgow. His research interests encompass Machine Learning, wireless communications, energy-efficient solutions, 5G self-organizing networks, cognitive radio networks, smart grid communication, and control systems. His pedagogical research focuses on AI-enabled education technologies and enhancing student learning experiences in transnational education.
