Biography

Dr. Sajjad Mofarah received his Ph.D. in Materials Science Engineering from UNSW Sydney in 2020, specializing in applied electrochemistry for the development of ultrathin metal-based coordination polymer–derived materials for catalysis and energy storage. In 2019, he was appointed as a Research Assistant at UNSW, where he advanced pioneering work on heterojunction nanostructures. After completing his doctorate, he joined UNSW's SMaRT Centre as a Research Associate, contributing to cyclic reprocessing of battery materials and high-value nanostructures, structural engineering, and advanced materials. In 2022, Dr. Mofarah took the lead in a major industry-supported commercialization program focused on next-generation battery technologies, driving the scalable development of novel cathode and electrolyte materials for high-performance sodium- and lithium-ion batteries.
