Salah Essa is a PhD researcher in Sociolinguistics at the University of Bern, Switzerland, supported by the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship (ESKAS). His unpublished MA dissertation investigates vowel shifts in the Baghdadi dialect, while his PhD thesis examines language variation changes in Christian Arabic in Baghdad.
