Dr. Sally Dykgraaf

Biography

Sally Hall Dykgraaf is a health services researcher based at the Australian National University Rural Clinical School. She has extensive experience in management analysis, qualitative data, and mixed methods approaches. Her expertise includes the application of novel and innovative research techniques, such as Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) and Social Network Analysis. Throughout her career, she has designed and implemented several program evaluations and participated in numerous consultancy projects with State-funded health services and Primary Healthcare organizations. Her research has explored the role of nurses in general practice, inter-professional learning, the use of practice guidelines in clinical decision making, and integration of clinical governance in primary care settings. Additionally, Sally has a strong background as a Registered Nurse, having worked in rural critical care and public health settings. She has a significant history of involvement in initiatives aimed at quality improvement in general practices in Australia. Sally has received numerous accolades, including the 2003 National Institute of Clinical Studies' GP Leader Awards and has served on various research and ethics committees. Her doctoral research focused on clinical practice variation in chronic disease management and employed QCA to examine pooled electronic medical records data.
