Biography

Salome Walz studied French language literature and contemporary history at the Universities of Fribourg (Switzerland) and Bordeaux (France) from 2018 to 2023. She served as an undergraduate research assistant for a project titled ‘Im Spiegel der Republik. Valerius Maximus‘ Facta et dicta memorabilia’ at the German Historical Institute in Paris during the summer of 2023. Currently, she is a graduate assistant in the Department of Ancient History at the University of Fribourg, where she is writing her doctoral thesis on the role of poetry in elite culture during the Roman Republic. Her research interests lie primarily in the fields of history, science, and antiquity.
