Biography

Salvador obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Zaragoza, Spain. He completed a research placement at the University of Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, France, where he carried out experimental measurements on the surface tension of complex fluids. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Southampton, focusing on the numerical simulation of hypersonic flows, particularly the study of heat transfer on deflection surfaces during planetary re-entry. Afterward, he joined Imperial College London as a Research Assistant in Combustion Modelling within the context of Large Eddy Simulations and was awarded the Sugden Award by the Combustion Institute (British Section) for his significant contributions to combustion research between 2005 and 2007. In October 2009, he was awarded a Royal Society University Fellowship, concentrating on droplet size distributions in spray atomization.
