Biography

Saman Majd is a Lecturer in Practice Management at the Yale School of Management with significant experience in finance and asset management. He served as the Vice Chairman at Deutsche Asset Management until his retirement in 2001. Prior to this, he held the position of Global Head of Derivatives & Fixed Income within the Global Markets Division at Deutsche Bank, where he was instrumental in government bond trading. Saman joined Deutsche Bank in 1995 after serving as Managing Director at Salomon Brothers, where he was responsible for derivatives in North America. His academic experience includes being an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management, where he taught advanced courses in fixed income markets. Saman completed his PhD at MIT Sloan in 1984 and holds a Master’s degree and Bachelor's degree from MIT and Oxford University, respectively.
