Biography

Samantha Catanzano is a Clinical Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin. She obtained her Pharm.D. degree and completed both pharmacy practice and psychiatric pharmacy practice residencies at the University of Texas at Austin and Seton Healthcare Family. Dr. Catanzano has extensive experience in clinical pharmacy, serving as a staff pharmacist at the Austin State Hospital. Currently, she provides academic lectures to medical students and psychiatry residents at Dell Medical School. Besides her academic role, she is a Psychiatric Pharmacist within the Integrated Behavioral Health Department at UT Health Austin, contributing to multidisciplinary teams that address the complex pharmacological needs associated with mental health in community clinics. Dr. Catanzano is a certified Mental Health Aid instructor and actively participates in the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists. Her research interests focus on assessing the well-being of student pharmacists in both academic and clinical settings, aiming to advocate for the pharmacist's role in improving access to mental health care services.
