Biography

Samantha Lindgren is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Policy, Organization & Leadership at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on youth-oriented sustainability education and environmental education, investigating how these areas can impact decision-making both at home and internationally. Dr. Lindgren’s work explores how youth can affect change within their households and communities through purposeful sustainability education programming in both formal and informal settings. Her domestic research addresses access and equity in environmental education programming while her international projects emphasize the introduction of efficient cookstoves and sustainable agriculture practices in resource-limited settings. Additionally, she is affiliated with the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering and the Technology Entrepreneurship Center in the Grainger College of Engineering, as well as the Women and Gender in a Global Perspective program.
