Dr. Samantha Petrak

Biography

Samantha Petrak is a Lecturer IV in Spanish at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She holds an M.A. in Spanish from Bowling Green State University. In her role, Ms. Petrak teaches introductory and intermediate Spanish courses. Her experience extends beyond her current position, having taught similar courses at various institutions including Eastern Michigan University, Wayne State University, and Henry Ford Community College. At Bowling Green State University, she instructed courses in Spanish grammar, literature, and culture. Ms. Petrak's academic pursuits also included serving as a translator for Dr. Paul Olscamp, the former president of Bowling Green State University, during a trip to evaluate the university's study abroad program in Spain. Additionally, she has valuable experience working as a Center Manager for the Texas Migrant Council's Head Start Program, where she supervised bilingual classes and community-based activities for migrant children while assisting their families with language and living skills.
