Dr. Samantha Smith

Biography

Samantha Smith, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation at Yale School of Medicine. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, with added qualifications in Sports Medicine. Dr. Smith specializes in non-operative treatments for musculoskeletal injuries and concussions, a field that has rapidly grown in importance over the past decade. An accomplished athlete herself, she was a competitive rower and understands the challenges faced by injured athletes. Dr. Smith completed her residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and served as Chief Resident in the Department of Pediatrics. After her residency, she completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery. She has held roles such as head team physician for KIPP NYC College Prep and has provided medical coverage for major events like the Lake Placid Ironman triathlon and the New York Marathon. Dr. Smith currently sees both pediatric and adult patients across various locations in Connecticut, including New Haven and Wallingford.
