Dr. Samantha Trumbo

Biography

Samantha Trumbo is an Assistant Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on the dynamic nature of planetary environments, particularly in the outer Solar System. She is interested in the diversity of planetary satellites, including volcanic Io and icy ocean worlds, which are considered planet-like worlds in their own right. Trumbo employs a variety of ground-based and space-based telescopes, alongside spacecraft data and modeling techniques, to explore these fascinating worlds and deepen our understanding of their unique chemical and physical processes.
