Biography

Sameer graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and obtained his PhD from Princeton University under the supervision of Professor Nathan Seiberg. He subsequently held research positions at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste and received a Marie Curie fellowship at the University of Paris. He later held a senior post-doctoral research position at Nikhef in Amsterdam, where he was awarded the NWO VIDI research grant by the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research. In 2015, he was awarded the prestigious ERC consolidator grant to lead a research team on a project involving quantum gravity and black holes, as well as modular forms. Sameer moved to King's College London in September 2013 as a Lecturer in Theoretical Physics and is currently a Professor of Theoretical Mathematical Physics. His research interests broadly encompass quantum field theory and string theory, focusing on various interactions with mathematics.
