Dr. Sameer Raina

Biography

Sameer Raina is a board-certified cardiologist and Clinical Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford Health Care, where he is a member of the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute. His clinical interests encompass preventive cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and sports cardiology. Dr. Raina has previously established a telemedicine program for cardiology during the COVID-19 pandemic and has a dedicated focus on individualized treatment plans for college athletes recovering from COVID-19. He emphasizes the importance of building relationships within the community of doctors, advocating for continuous communication as a cornerstone of excellent patient care. His current research interests include preventive cardiology, cardiac imaging, and outcomes research, with a focus on studying outcomes of cardiac interventions in specific patient populations. Dr. Raina is an active participant in the Stanford South Asian Translational Heart Initiative (SSATHI), aiming to address high-risk cardiovascular diseases among South Asians. Additionally, he serves as a peer reviewer for notable publications and has been an invited speaker at both national and international cardiology meetings. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and holds multiple board certifications in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
