Biography

Samer Anabtawi is a Lecturer in Comparative Politics at University College London (UCL), with scholarly training in political science. His research focuses on comparative politics and quantitative research methods, particularly the study of political regimes and social movements in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. His broad research interests encompass Palestinian politics, democracy, authoritarianism, domestic and transnational LGBTQ movements, as well as judicial politics and the interaction of law and society. He obtained his PhD in political science from George Washington University, where he also completed his MA in International Relations, and holds a BSc in political science and economics from Illinois College.
