Dr. Samer Jarkasy

Biography

Samer Jarkasy is a Professor of Practice in Finance at the Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. He has extensive practitioner academic experience including roles such as Chief Capital Markets Officer at Tokamak Energy Ltd, where he led the company's successful investment rounds, and as an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His past position as Managing Director at Winton, a leading global hedge fund firm, allowed him to leverage his expertise in investment management. Over nearly a decade, he was a Board Director of Winton UCITS Funds PLC, providing oversight and strategic direction for the hedge fund's operations. Samer has also served as an advisor to the Board Directors of Race Nation Limited, which focuses on sports technology. With a Doctor of Philosophy in Finance from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), Samer has lectured part-time in various areas such as Alternative Investments, Equity Investing, and ESG Investing across programs at prestigious institutions including Oxford, Warwick, and City, University of London. He was awarded the University of Oxford SSD Teaching Excellence Award in 2023, highlighting his contribution to pedagogical excellence.
