Biography

Samjid Mannan is a Professor of Materials Technology in the Department of Physics at King's College London. He holds a BA in Physics from 1988 and a PhD in theoretical elementary particle physics from Southampton University in 1991. After completing his PhD, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in electronics manufacturing at Salford University and Loughborough University. He joined King's College London as a lecturer in 1999 and was granted an Advanced Research Fellowship. His research interests include the sintering of nanoparticles for high-temperature electronics interconnect materials, the development of nanoparticle nanocomposite materials, and rheology of inter-particle contacts in concentrated suspensions. Mannan has also focused on electronic materials for interconnections in harsh environments and has published several peer-reviewed articles on related topics. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a Senior Member of IEEE.
