Dr. Samrat Das

Biography

Samrat Umasankar Das is a Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University, specializing in pediatric hospital medicine and pediatric sedation. He has a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate medical education, focusing on interprofessional education and simulation-based training. His research interests include observational studies aimed at improving clinical practices in inpatient pediatrics. Dr. Das completed his internship and residency at New York Medical College, where he trained in Pediatrics from 2004 to 2007. He had previously earned his M.B.B.S. from Government Medical College Hospital in Nagpur, India. Active in various professional activities, he has contributed to mentoring sessions and has participated in key educational committees at Duke. His dedication extends to participation in the American Federation for Medical Research, where he served as president, and he has been involved with various curricular innovations in interprofessional education.
