Dr. Samuel Bernard

Biography

Samuel Bernard is an Assistant Professor and Director of Structural Heart Imaging at NYU Langone Health, specializing in cardiology and critical care. His expertise encompasses critical cardiovascular conditions, including cardiogenic shock and life-threatening arrhythmias. He is also a structural echocardiographer, adept at performing and interpreting echocardiograms and guiding percutaneous procedures such as left atrial appendage occlusion and transcatheter valve replacements. His dual expertise in critical care and structural echocardiography allows him to manage complex cardiac conditions effectively. Bernard takes a patient-centered approach, ensuring that those he treats feel understood and supported throughout their medical journeys. His clinical collaborations extend across multiple specialties, providing comprehensive care for patients in critical conditions. Bernard’s educational background includes fellowships in echocardiography and cardiovascular disease at Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as training in cardiac critical care at Brigham Women's Hospital and internal medicine at Columbia University Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital. He is board certified in Critical Care Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
