Biography

Samuel Bond joined Scheller College of Business in 2007. He received his PhD from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. At Scheller, he teaches Marketing Management and Consumer Behavior at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and participates in custom executive education programs. In addition to his current role as Area Coordinator, he previously served as coordinator of the marketing doctoral program. His research focuses on consumer psychology and behavior, examining the consequences of modern technology on consumer information processing and decision making. His work has been published in esteemed journals including the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, and MIS Quarterly. Ongoing research projects include psychological aspects of product recommendation tools, the influence of interactive 'smart' devices, and the effects of emotional content in online reviews and word-of-mouth communication. He has received several awards for his research and teaching, including the Publication Award from the Decision Analysis Society in 2012 and the Core Professor Award from his students in the full-time MBA program in 2011. Bond has also secured competitive research grants from the Marketing Science Institute and the Sloan Foundation.
