Biography

Samuel Brasil is an Associate Professor at the Berkman Klein Center, Harvard University, where he contributes to the LL.M. program in Legal Theory. He specializes in the intersection of technology and law with a particular focus on artificial intelligence (AI) alignment, ethical AI, Agentic AI, and algorithmic fairness. He also leads a research group that investigates behavioral science and digital justice. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of São Paulo and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Espírito Santo. In addition to his academic role, he currently serves as Chief Justice of the Espírito Santo Court, which is the State Supreme Court. Samuel has received multiple awards for his contributions to projects involving artificial intelligence and digital innovation, reflecting his commitment to exploring the implications of technology in legal frameworks and society at large.
