Dr. Samuel Li

Biography

Samuel Li is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. His primary research focus is on Hydrotechnical Engineering with an emphasis on environmental hydraulics, river coastal simulations, and water quality assessments. A Professional Engineer licensed in British Columbia, he is a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering and a member of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering Research. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering. Dr. Li's teaching portfolio includes courses such as Graduate Seminar Building Civil Engineering, Hydrodynamics, and Hydraulic Engineering, among others. His expertise encompasses a wide range of topics, including water resources engineering, river flood sediment transport, computational fluid dynamics, and drainage engineering. Through his active research, he contributes to enhancing methodologies for understanding and managing aquatic environments, addressing challenges such as pollutant transport, water-ice interactions, and various aspects of hydraulics.
