Samuel Meister is an Assistant Professor in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Geneva. His research primarily focuses on the metaphysics of Plato and Aristotle. However, he is also interested in all aspects of Greco-Roman philosophy and its reception in subsequent traditions as well as contemporary philosophy. Samuel joined the Department of Philosophy at Geneva after holding positions at the University of Toronto from 2021 to 2023 and at the University of Tübingen in 2023-2024. Previously, he was a fellow at the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University during the academic year 2022-2023. Originally from Zurich, he studied Classical Philology (BA, 2012) and Philosophy (BPhil, 2014) at the University of Oxford before completing his doctorate in Philosophy at Brown University in 2020.
