Biography

Samuel Westwood joined King’s College London in 2023 as a Lecturer in Psychology. He specializes in neuromodulation, neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically focusing on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and open reproducible research practices. His work emphasizes providing practical guidance in the fields of translational cognitive neuroscience and psychiatric research. Samuel earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Birmingham and obtained a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from Aston University. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at King’s College London. Prior to this, he lectured at the University of Westminster and the University of Wolverhampton. Samuel is committed to promoting reproducible, interpretable, open, and transparent scientific practices, illustrated by his founding of the RIOT Science Club, which raises awareness and provides training on these significant issues. His research interests also align with supporting neurodiversity in higher education, and he actively participates in UKRI Concordats Agreements and advisory groups aimed at improving research quality and transparency.
